This Sunday (26th June 2022), we hosted an inclusive dance and musical theatre workshop for SEND students with the help of Disability Cube UK. The workshop took place at Guildford Spectrum for students aged between 5 and 18.
Our main aim for this workshop and this project was to enable SEND students to come together, make friends and express themselves through dance. And to give these children a voice and enable them to feel heard and included with the same fit-for-purpose activities on offer as for mainstream children.
The students who attended had the opportunity to explore dance in an inclusive and non judgemental environement where they all felt welcomed and got to participate at a level that suited their individual needs.
We would love to continue our fundrasing efforts for this festival to enable us to provide continuation to these students so that they can continue to express themseves through dance and develp new friendships and improved physical and mental wellbeing.
