Fundraiser - Synergy Dance Outreach

The Launch of ParaStars Yoga®

ParaStars Yoga

Here at Synergy Dance Outreach, we believe in inclusivity and have specifically developed a new programme called ParaStars Yoga®.

ParaStars Yoga® will be delivered online, via pre-recorded routines which you can take part in at home, or in community settings. In-person, classes will be available in due course.

Yoga is a spiritual and physical activity which has become increasingly popular due to its positive impacts on health and overall wellbeing, including pain relief and relaxation.

Yoga is beneficial for all ages, abilities, body types and fitness levels. It’s a very adaptable physical activity, and due to this our ParaStars Yoga® Programme is solely based on seated positions and routines for the disabled community and those with long-term health conditions.

The benefits of yoga are vast and it’s a beneficial addition to anyone’s lifestyle, specifically for those who may experience muscle tightness, muscular weakness, poor mental health or chronic pain.

Here are just a few of the benefits Yoga can have:

  • Increased strength, flexibility and balance
  • Decreased stress and anxiety through relaxation and breathing techniques
  • Improve posture
  • Increased blood flow and reduced blood pressure
  • Improve bone and muscle health
  • Improved move and overall focus
  • Strengthened joints and connective tissues
  • Strengthened muscles
  • Social and inclusion benefits

Yoga in a wheelchair, or with long-term health conditions is 100% possible with ParaStars Yoga® and, it’s also great FUN!

£2,000 Raised for the Community Fitness Networks ‘Get Yer Kit On’ Project

Synergy Dance Fundraising Certificate

This year Synergy Dance took part in classfinders Group Ex Festival in partnership with EMD UK alongside a wide array of other fantastic organisations to help keep the nation active.

In total, the event raised over £2,000 for the Community Fitness Network ‘Get Yer Kit On’ project and helped 300 households get ACTIVE!

This money will mean that more women will now be able to access physical activity and career pathways into group exercise. If you would like to find out more about the ‘Get Yer Kit On’ project you can do so here.

You can also head on over to EMD UK and view their National Sporting Heritage Day video that will show you the true resilience and determination of instructors who have adapted and kept on going throughout the pandemic to keep people active and entertained.

We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone who took part and made it such an incredible event to be a part of, and also a huge thank you to our incredibly talented instructors who have helped make this and other events possible this year.
