Social Prescribing Through Movement, Dance, Fitness and Wellbeing
Supporting Health, Wellbeing and Community Connection

At Synergy Dance®, we believe that movement is medicine. Through our inclusive dance, fitness, yoga and wellbeing programmes, we support social prescribing initiatives that help individuals improve their physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and social connections.

Social prescribing is increasingly recognised as an effective way to address health inequalities, reduce social isolation and support people to live healthier, more active lives. Rather than relying solely on clinical interventions, social prescribing connects individuals with community-based exercise activities that improve overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Our programmes are designed to support children, young people, adults and older adults, including those living with disabilities, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), long-term health conditions, rehabilitation needs and mental health challenges.

Trusted by Healthcare and Children’s Hospitals

Synergy Dance® is proud to work alongside leading healthcare providers and children’s hospitals to deliver inclusive movement opportunities that support health and wellbeing beyond traditional medical care.

  1. Evelina London Children’s Hospital
  2. Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
  3. DEBRA for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) patients
  4. Freedom Leisure
  5. Everyone Active
  6. Places Leisure
  7. Lampton Leisure
  8. British Blind Sport
  9. Developing partnerships with additional children’s hospitals across the UK

Through bedside sessions, ward-based activities, rehabilitation programmes and digital exercise resources, we help children and families experience the physical, emotional and social benefits of movement during their healthcare journey.

Our hospital programmes support:

  1. Physical activity and rehabilitation
  2. Emotional wellbeing and resilience
  3. Confidence and self-expression
  4. Family engagement and interaction
  5. Pain management and distraction techniques
  6. Improved mood and social connection
  7. Maintaining activity levels during hospital stays

The smiles in the hospital wards are something we’ll never forget. These sessions bring light to families when they need it most.

— Play Specialist, Evelina London

I wanted to thank you for everything you do for children in our hospital.
We all know how important it is for children and young people receiving hospital care to have a sense of normality and experience happiness. We really appreciate the one-on-one yoga and dance sessions you provide, and the weekly visits parents can enjoy too.
Thank you again for everything you do to help make Evelina London special for children and young people receiving our care. We hope the important relationship you have with our fabulous play team and with our hospital will continue for many years to come.

Gubby Ayida, CEO, Evelina London Children’s Hospital

I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback from the sessions with the Hummingbird Team...as part of Hummingbirds Pain Research Project.
The team has expressed how much respect they have for the approach of your practitioners and the way they have listened and adapted the sessions to meet the needs of the children and young people attending. I personally want to thank you for partnering with us and bringing the skill of the practitioners to GOSH. Thank you again for the time, effort and care you have put into these sessions. The work your practitioners have contributed has been greatly valued by the team, especially during the infancy of this project.

Synergy Dance® offers a growing library of inclusive digital workouts that can be accessed at home, in schools, hospitals, care settings, community venues and supported living environments.
