Synergy Dance Outreach is a charity that provides dance, movement, yoga, art, cookery, food and nutrition workshops and fitness classes for children, teens and adults of all ages and abilities. We operate a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) programs, and our instructors are specially trained to engage with vulnerable groups.
Our instructors are highly qualified and have attended Responsive training with Stop Gap, while our specialist SEND instructors are trained by Para Dance UK.
Synergy Dance® Outreach breaks down the barriers which prevent children and adults from taking part in an activity or from enjoying healthy eating and lifestyles. We work with leisure centres, schools, clubs, local councils, hospitals, care homes, outreach centres, drop-in centres, colleges, universities, libraries, galleries and museums, sports clubs and uniformed organisations.
Since its inception in 2016, and following pilots in schools, Synergy Dance® Outreach has been providing new and innovative dance programs specifically designed for schools and leisure centres, care homes, outreach centres and holiday schemes, for children and teenagers and beyond. We are reaching more and more participants with SEN and with disabilities. We engage and connect with other organisations for care homes, children’s holiday schemes, day centres, sheltered housing and Older people teams.
We support carers’ networks, local befriending and volunteering services.
We further connect with other organisations which support specific groups we are targeting – for example we are working with Surrey Choices, Sight for Surrey, Active Surrey, Guildford Borough Council, Para Dance UK, Cracking Good Food and many other organisations and charities to enhance our provision. The aim is to work together and not to compete.
We aim to be fully inclusive in all we do. We observe Safeguarding practice and the protection of children and adults within our activities.
Synergy Dance® Outreach and Para Dance UK work in partnership to further the development and aspirations of the Surrey disability community.

Our unique teaching style
We have pioneered our flexible and free style of teaching (Synergy Dance free-teaching style™), along with Impro-Dance™ (freestyle, participant-led sections). Dance games and flexible teaching styles enhance the learning and dance experience for every group.
Something for everyone
Our mixture of dance styles, choreography and music appeals to both boys and girls, and the blend of drama and dance is unique.
There is something for everyone in our vibrant mix of dance, fitness and yoga and fun, themed workshops.
We are expanding our outreach program due to popular demand, with a new focus on cookery classes in the community and the over 60s to name but a few. Our ultimate goal is to provide national coverage. Watch this space!

In the long term, we predict that the Synergy Dance® program will help to strengthen our young people, relieve their daily pressures, improve their fitness level and in turn may enhance performance and confidence levels.
We intend to:
- Reach more participants with SEN
- Pioneer new ways of exercising
- Build up our capacity of skilled and trained instructors
- Provide quality dance provision at affordable prices
- Provide opportunities for children to perform in the community
- Work with the local community
- Facilitate the engagement of volunteers, internships and placements
We would like young people to be ‘dancing in their sleep’ and promote the Synergy Dance® Outreach program as a life choice, which starts in schools, leisure centres and the local community.
Children ‘dance to their own tune’ and find that fitness is fun, leading them towards a healthier lifestyle and opportunities to perform.
Following our success in London, Surrey and Kent, Synergy is expanding into a franchise throughout the UK.
